'La Roche Posay's Effeclar Duo' were the words on everyone's lips this year and it even featured in many 'Best of 2013' posts. With the hype surrounding this product, it made me so eager to buy it - you'll know what I'm like by now, I always buy into the hype to see what all of the fuss is about. Everyone I know has praised this to the high heavens so I couldn't really leave it in Boots without adding it to my shopping bag.

LA ROCHE POSAY EFFECLAR DUO - £13
I've been using this around 4 weeks now and I've definitely noticed a reduction in the amount of spots on my face. I'm not prone to breakouts and do just have a few at 'that time of the month' but I do get the odd pimple here and there. As soon as I get a little spot, I pop a bit of this on it and it's pretty much gone within 2/3 days which I think is amazing for a spot cream.

With spots, it literally is spot-on but with redness, it doesn't make the cut for me. I tend to get red patches around my cheeks and I apply this every night to the areas and it doesn't really make the slightest difference. However, because I can cover this with foundation and spots are the main reason why I bought this product, it doesn't bother me too much. At a mere £13 I think this is an amazing highstreet find for a quick spot-killer!

What's your favourite spot cream?

  1. I picked this up last year because of the hype surrounding it. Upon my initial use of using it I noticed that it began to dry my skin out, this was probably my fault as I wasn't using a moisturiser on top which I think I should have been. I've since tried it again and this time round my skin has just being breaking out into spots. I've stopped using it now just in case it is that, I don't know if it is coincidence or if it is indeed the product.

I'm pleased it worked for you, it appears most people get on well with this :) I'm still keen to try it again in a few weeks just to give it one more chance.

  2. Ooh I keep meaning to give this a go! My chin is always the go-to place for my breakouts, and I really need something to fix it!
