mac msf: soft and gentle

Tuesday, October 15, 2013
MAC is one of my favourite high-end brands hands down. Since buying my first MAC lipstick back in June, I've returned and bought nearly 15 products. I have quite an addictive personality so once I start to love a brand, I buy as much as I can before I move onto the next obsession. It may be good for my face (and blog) but sadly not for my bank account! :(

After looking for the perfect highlighter, one that popped up on my blog search very frequently was MAC's Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle. This was quite expensive at £22 but worth every penny! On the skin it looks a lot lighter than in the pan, but the glitter and colour of it is beautiful. It looks lovely applied on the top of the cheek bone on its own, or even with a nice bronzed tan to give a nice, warm and healthy glow.

As the name of the product suggests, it is really 'soft and gentle'. It doesn't make you look like a walking glitter ball and just adds a small hint of shimmer. The champagne glimmers look absolutley beautiful and lasts a good 6-7 hours. Also, a little does go a long way! I only swatched this very lightly on my hand above and gave a nice, even glow.

Overall I'd definitely recommend and repurchase! It is on the expensive side but I have no faults as of yet!

  5. Oh that looks fab! As I have pale skin I am always on the lookout for bronzey type products but that aren't too dark/orangey, but this looks beautiful! I haven't bought any MAC in a while actually!

  6. How would you say it compares to NARS Albatross? Albatross is my current favorite so I couldn't help wondering.

Also could you please check out my blog? I hope you'll like it :) http://thesecretlifeofabeautylover.blogspot.com

    1. I've not tried Albatross so I can't say for certain, but I think this will be slightly warmer because it's more of a golden, champagney colour :) Sure I will! Xx

    2. Albatross looks white in the pan but on the skin it turns into a golden shimmer too! But from the swatches I do think I prefer Albatross. You should try it. I will do a post about it soon so you can see it :)

  8. This is obviously a blogger favorite, but it's always something I convince myself I don't really need since I have so many other highlighters...but seeing your swatch it looks so pretty!
