Seychelles Candle by Ashleigh & Burwood

There's no denying that I'm one of the biggest candle obsessors you'll ever talk to. My bedroom, living room & even kitchen combined has over 30 candles, from tea lights & votives to huge jars. I'm obsessed, so when Ashleigh & Burwood asked if I'd like to review the new Seychelles candle* from their Escapology range, I couldn't turn it down.

When it comes to scents in general - candles, perfumes, pretty much everything! - I like fresh scents. This one is right up my street when it comes to the fragrance, as it has a gorgeous smell which reminds me of a Summer holiday. The most surprising thing about this to me was the strength of the fragrance. Before I'd even burnt it I had it placed on my bedside table & after I walked out and come back in 10 minutes later, my whole bedroom smelt amazing. Another great thing is how the wick burns easily because not many things annoy me more than a candle which has wasted wax all down the side!

Overall I'm so impressed with this candle and after having a browse on their website, I've added many more to my wishlist.

Cute Home Decor Pieces

If there's one thing I think is my biggest weakness, it's cute home decor. I could spend hours upon hours browsing Etsy, adding hundreds of things to my imaginary baskets. Sometimes these 'imaginary baskets' can go to waste, so I thought I'd make a mini-series of my favourite home decor items.

ONE  This gold foil print is stunning & I think the quote is great for pretty much every girl. I'm a sucker for gold foil, as you can tell by this Pinterest board!

TWO  Another thing I love the look of is this handmade Spice Rack. I don't have that many spices to add to it (takeaways don't usually need any extra spices!) but it looks gorgeous nonetheless. If you're a fan of rural, homely decor pieces, I'm sure you'd love this!

THREE  Again, more gold foil. This mug is from one of my favourite online stores, Gifts & Pieces. This would make a gorgeous gift for any pink & gold lover!

FOUR  I've mentioned before that you can't go wrong with Chanel. This print from an Etsy store looks stunning & would look gorgeous in my bedroom! I think I may just treat myself to this & count it as an early Christmas present...

Christmas Bedroom Decor

When it comes to bedroom decor or anything to do with Christmas, I'm all over it like a rash. It's gradually become more and more of a little obsession of mine to go to IKEA and have a nosey round, looking for inspiration and ideas that I can do to spruce up my room. I'm a perfectionist and get bored very easily so the basic features of my bedroom are white, and soft furnishings are red to get a bit of the Christmas spirit. The one thing I love about having white pieces is how easy they are to change. If I was to replace the red items in my room with another colour, the room would feel brand new.



On a recent trip to IKEA with my mum, I was instantly drawn to the reds and greys. I'm not a huge lover of colour (hence why my bedroom is mainly white!) but I think by adding a few red items such as candles, pillows and blankets, it makes the room have much more personality. One of the favourite things I picked up was this grey, red & white blanket that is one of the coziest blankets I have. Beneath that I lay my cream blanket, also from IKEA to pull out the creams in the pillows.

I also put a string of fairy lights around my DIY-ed headboard with warm lighting, again, to make it cosier for when I do my midnight blog-reading sprees. Because the lights were too long and I didn't like the look of them being double-wrapped, I put the extra lights in a glass bowl beside my bed. On my bedside table I also have my Liberty floral notebook & a vase of white flowers that I accessorized with a little red ribbon. I also put this ribbon on the twisty-thing of my blinds, my wardrobe handles and the little candle dish where I display some of my jewelry.

I decided that it was finally time to put the tree up - even though we're still 10 days off the 1st of December, I couldn't wait! Do you usually Christmas-ify your bedroom?

Bedside Bits

I have finally had my bedroom redecorated! The horrible black and pink colour scheme that the little 11 year old me though was cool has finally gone (praise the Lord). Over the past few days I've been trailing out different organisational tips to get my room the best it can look (and the most efficient!) and I think I've nailed the bedside tables.

Now I'd normally post this on my lifestyle blog but today it's on here - it does include beauty items after all. The first thing, beauty-wise, that I keep on my bedside table is my moisturizer. I use the Vaseline Spray & Go to moisturize my body because it's so quick & easy to use whilst still hydrating my skin. I also keep the Burts Bees foot cream but let's not talk about moisturizing our feet. It makes me feel sick!

I also keep my deodorant and a clear nail polish here for when I'm not wearing acrylics and my nails need hydrating. Non-beauty bits include my lamps from Argos, a small pot with fake flowers from IKEA and a baby cactus. Cute. One of my favourite parts of my room is this little glass jar that I filled with fairy lights, again from IKEA. I'm literally so fussy with lighting but this, along with the light off my TV gives my room a really, cosy feeling in the evening.

Dreamy Interiors

If the makeup artist thing doesn't work out for me, I'm banking on doing interior design. It's something that I've always been interested in, and even spent hours putting together ideas for my bedroom when I was younger, just for fun. You'll see below there's three different themes that I love.

You'll probably have guessed my favourite themes by now - simplistic and naturistic (if that's a word). I love clean, monochrome bathrooms and study areas/offices, but I also love wood and plants for a kitchen. I always promised my mum that I was going to paint and decorate my kitchen the colours inside The Great British Bake Off tent and am definitely staying true to my word! As always, my first stop for inspiration was Pinterest. That place is an interior-obsessed girls heaven! Plus, I may or may not have my children's, future home and wedding planned out already, and I'm only 16...

zara home lusts

zara. one of the best shops in the history of shops. although slightly on the expensive side of clothing, the durability and quality is still worth the money. we're decorating still, and the coughs and cold are sadly upon us now, making wishlists about cute home decor all i feel capable of. mock exams (in subjects that i require no information of to do what i want to do with my life) are also another fault of this week. endless revision sessions and hours upon hours of procrastinating is starting to drive me crazy... drained is not the word!

all of these products are just so cutely pretty and feminine - all things that i love home decor to be about. zara's new home additions are all beautiful, and not mega overpriced like you'd expect. all of the products look like they're made beautifully and i just want them all shoveled up and plonked into my room. the daisy photo frame is especially my favourite, but can you blame me? it's beautiful, and i'm definitely scouring the zara website trying to other find matching pieces.
